The Basics
Up to 6 passengers can accompany our Captain and mate deep sea fishing in the gorgeous blue Caribbean Sea. Our most frequent pelagic fish catches include mahi mahi, multiple species of tuna, wahoo, marlin, and kingfish.
Our typical method of fishing is trolling. The fish can be hard to track down some days and the trolling method enables us to drag lines for miles and miles helping us cover more area and find the fish. We troll from 2-7 lines at a time based on the fish we are targeting and the sea conditions. On request we will target inshore species like tarpon, kingfish, cero mackerel, jacks, snapper, grouper, however offshore is our specialty and we have limited access to some of the shallow inshore spots because of the deeper draft of our offshore boat. We also enjoy deep dropping! If you would like to target the insane looking creatures of the deep we are happy to accommodate, just let us know ahead of time and we'll be sure to bring our electric reels and deep dropping gear.
Our morning trips typically start at 7:30 am and we are generally based out of Christiansted or in the event of rough seas or by request, we launch out of Frederiksted. We can also pick you up at Green Cay Marina, The Buccaneer, Salt River Marina and just about anywhere else with dock access by request.
Trip Lengths
We offer trips from 4 to 12 hours in duration. On our 4 to 8 hour trips we generally stay within ~20 miles of the island, and often times we are fishing the shelf which is less than a mile from shore in St Croix. On our 10 and 12 hour trips (weather allowing) we are generally going on longer runs to fishing hot spots such as the North and South Drops of St Thomas, Saba Bank, Vieques FADs, Legendary Gibbs Bank, and various Sea Mt's that we have charted over the years.
We do our best to accommodate all requests and we can easily customize your trip to include lunch stops, private beaches, snorkel spots, and more. Feel free to reach out with any special requests before booking.
What to bring
-We will provide bottled water to our guests.
-All passengers (or Guardians) are required to fill out a Pre Arrival Waiver Form before we leave the dock.
-Feel free to bring along any snacks or beverages, we will have plenty of ice chest space for your chilled items, and dry storage for other snacks and bags.
-You can bring a cooler if you would like however it is generally easiest for us to consolidate your chilled items into our cooler. We prefer to leave your cooler in the car and load you down with Ziplocs full of our fresh catch and ice at the end of your charter.
-You can bring reef safe sunscreen or we will be happy to provide ours. NO spray sunscreen because it stains the boat orange
-If you would like to bring any of your own gear such as dive gear, cameras, drones, fishing gear, spear gear, etc we are happy to accommodate and will have plenty of storage space for you.

Alcohol
BYOB for any Alcoholic beverages (no glass bottles). Please drink responsibly. Our aim is to have a fun and safe day on the water and we ask that you maintain your ability to be safe while on our boat. The Captain has the discretion at anytime to end a trip or drop off guests due to alcohol related problems. Refunds will not be granted if any alcohol related issues arise and the trip has to be cut short.
Gear
We use high quality Shimano Tiagra reels coupled with the best available rods, line, and tackle. We pride ourselves on having top notch gear because you never know when that big fish is going to hit and we want to be prepared 100% of the time. We do not cut any corners on our gear and bait preparation.
Cancellations
Deposits are non-refundable unless Blue Canyon Charters cancels due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. We can be very understanding if given advanced notice that you would like to move dates or cancel. Our aim is to give you the absolute best day, not keep your deposit. Cancellations within 24hours of trip start time and no shows will be charged the full trip rate for their booking.
